is a Private Nuclear Medicine Centre, which was established on 1 July 1996.
It provides an up-to-date Nuclear Medicine service to all patients in Cyprus
upon appropriate referral from their respective physicians.
Let us introduce ourselves: Dr. Savvas Frangos is a Board certified Nuclear Medicine specialist physician. His medical studies were completed in the Free University, Berlin (ex.West), Germany. Thereafter he worked in the Nuclear Medicine Departments of the Neukoelln Hospital in Berlin and Ippokration University Hospital in Thessaloniki. He is Fellow of the European Board of Nuclear Medicine (contact) Dr. Kypros Kouris is a Consultant Medical Physicist whose role is to provide the scientific and technological support necessary to ensure the highest quality of operation of the equipment and adopted protocols. He is an Honorary Lecturer, Institute of Nuclear Medicine, The Middlesex Hospital, London, where he worked prior to returning to Cyprus. He is the author or co-author of scientific and medical books and many scientific papers in refereed Journals. He is a Fellow of The Institution of Physics and Engineering in Medicine. (contact) Our Nuclear Medicine facilities are as follows: A new modern, tomographic (SPECT) gamma-camera (large field of view) and computer system (ELSCINT SPX-6 and APEX computer) with all options and accessories required to carry out the entire range of Nuclear Medicine investigations. An independent image processing and reporting workstation (ELSCINT XPERT) and archiving system A "Hot Lab": The preparation, handling and administration of the radiopharmaceuticals, as well as the doses administered to the patients adhere to EU recommendations. A full Cardiological exercise equipment consisting of : Ergometric Bicycle, 12 leads electrocardiograph, Defibrillator and all the emergency facilities. Conferences organised by us: October 1996 "Nuclear Medicine and the other Specialties" December 1997, "Nuclear Medicine and the other Specialties II" Both seminars were aiming to promote better awareness of Nuclear Medicine amongst physicians and the public in Cyprus.
